Fair\u00adtrade bananas from Colom\u00adbia are one of the main prod\u00aducts trad\u00aded under the Fair\u00adtrade mark in many super\u00admar\u00adkets across Europe. Fair\u00adtrade banana pro\u00adduc\u00aders and traders are not only com\u00admit\u00adted to com\u00adply with Fair\u00adtrade stan\u00addards, but also to con\u00adtribute with the well\u00adbe\u00ading of farm\u00aders, work\u00aders, their fam\u00adi\u00adlies and com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adties. Fair\u00adtrade banana pro\u00adduc\u00aders con\u00adtribute to the rur\u00adal econ\u00ado\u00admy by cre\u00adat\u00ading per\u00adma\u00adnent and tem\u00adpo\u00adrary jobs for thou\u00adsands of male and female work\u00aders. In Ura\u00adba, sales of Fair\u00adtrade bananas ben\u00ade\u00adfit 5,000 work\u00aders and their fam\u00adi\u00adlies, by earn\u00ading a fair wage under decent work\u00ading con\u00addi\u00adtions and access\u00ading to bet\u00adter hous\u00ading and edu\u00adca\u00adtion of their chil\u00addren, which rep\u00adre\u00adsents the main way to go out of the \u201ccir\u00adcle of pover\u00adty\u201d. Plan\u00adta\u00adtion work\u00aders also share their ben\u00ade\u00adfits from the Fair\u00adtrade pre\u00admi\u00adum with their com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adties by imple\u00adment\u00ading social projects. Chil\u00addren and young peo\u00adple are key ben\u00ade\u00adfi\u00adcia\u00adries of those projects, through the access to schol\u00adar\u00adships, sport and cul\u00adtur\u00adal activ\u00adi\u00adties. Fair\u00adtrade banana work\u00aders have pri\u00ador\u00adi\u00adtized these social invest\u00adments as an attempt to reduce the neg\u00ada\u00adtive impact of the vio\u00adlence, unem\u00adploy\u00adment and pover\u00adty in their com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adties.
